THE G-PUPPIES
continued:
The 6th week
They're up and about, discovering the world around them. Mom Raiya has started to spend less time with them and the rest of the family helps raising the kids. Here's nanny Zilvia taking Bruce for a walk outside :-)

The pups moved from their whelping box in the livingroom to an ex-pen where they can see everything that's part of daily life. Raiya decided she doesn't want to sleep with them at night any more but enjoys the reunions in the morning. She still has lots of milk and eventhough her kids can eat well (including chewing raw meaty bones) they still prefer mom's milk. Raiya gave me a big surprise the day after they turned 6 weeks. For a moment I worried she wasn't feeling well as she threw up but guess what... she's regurgitating her food for the pups! She stepped back and looked very pleased and proud. She's a wonderful mom, no doubt about it.
The photos below were taken with great patience by Harry while I could hardly stop laughing. Six week old puppies have better things to do than standing still, so trying to keep the non-stop tailwagging little furballs on the table was like a scary ping-pong game.

Fred, "I can do this by myself". His ears are going up now, he'll look like a flying nun for a short time but with a bit of luck they'll be totally up by the next photo session. Fred now weighs 994 gr.

Beamer is a lightweight sweetheart, very people oriented. His littermates are bigger but Beamer has plenty of compensation: he's very clever and always finds a way to make the best of a situation. At 6 weeks he weighs 641 gr.

Bruce, a handful in the true sense of the word, only 6 weeks old but loves to push button & limits! He doesn't care for doing things the easy way, he likes to try all posibilities. Why walk when you can jump :-) His weight: 889 gr.

Bruce's partner in crime: Stella, a girl with a fast working mind, she's full of ideas and action. She now weighs 856.
The 7th week

Playtime indoors: testing several tunnels and developing sense of balance ;-) Here's Beamer "helping" Stella, and Fred kissing Nixe's son Teddy.

But guess what... the world is bigger than what they saw sofar. New thing this week was the garden. They had been outside since last week in the smaller paved area close to the house, and now with the beautiful weather it was time to expand their horizons. Here's Raiya, with Stella running as fast as her legs can carry her. Zilvia had to stop for a moment to roll around in the gras.
The photo on the left is Raiya with Bruce. She's very busy now in teaching her kids good manners. She hardly lets them nurse anymore and her "no!" is well understood. Sometimes Fred (see right photo below) is quicker than she is, he doesn't waste a second, who knows when the next opportunity for a bit of milk comes along. She loves to play with them but doesn't want to spend time with them in their puppypen, only to finish their food for them ;-)

Did you know that Toy-trees exist? These toys are called apples and Beamer thinks they're great.
The pups also met some of our neighbours. On the left photo Beamer is saying hello to Pascal.

Above is Fred, below are Bruce and Stella.

This is what we see every evening. Hoorah, they finally fell asleep ;-)
Their weights at 7 weeks: Fred 1095, Beamer 762, Bruce 1020 and Stella 970 gr.
The 8th week

Thank goodness they still have their sleepy times ;-) This week the inner speed demons took over.

Fred, looks like an angel, well, most of the time ;-)

Left photo: Stella. She loves to read.
Below: Bruce in one of his very rare calm moments. He has a thick skull in every sense of the word. I just hope my heart is as shockproof as his head is, he's a real thriller.....

And then there's Beamer, practising flying and landing:

Their weights at 8 weeks: Fred 1215, Beamer 860, Bruce 1120, Stella 1035 gr.
The 9th week
This week they met their dad Kenzo who came visiting:

Raiya in the middle (as always giving kisses while supervising), me with Bruce and Fred, Kenzo, and Petra with Beamer and Stella.

Bruce showing Stella and Fred how to climb on top of the stones

Beamer has taken an interest in small-scale gardening. Here he's leading Fred and Stella, especially Stella loves to learn more about lavender. In the photo below is Beamer again with Halo and Bruce, he might as well say "there used to be bamboo in this pot, gee, I wonder where it went"...

On the left: Stella & Fred with a favourite old ball. On the right: Fred playing tug of war with Halo & Teddy. The poor unstuffed toy used to be a froggy.

Bruce, Stella, and Stella & Bruce together.
This week they went to the vet for their first vaccination and to be chipped. Except for the short part with the needle, they had a blast. In the examining room Fred ran around showing off a pig's ear (that we brought in their carrier to give them something to do during the carride which went great), Bruce and Stella were chasing eachother as usual and Beamer showed his love for electrical cords by heading straight for the ultrasound machine. They loved meeting the vet and assistant and by the time we were back in the car they were sound asleep.
Their weights at 9 weeks: Fred 1400, Beamer 1005, Bruce 1230 and Stella 1190 gr.
